Introduction
This analytical hyperessay is inspired by the article "Mobilizing Mother" by Michelle Rodino. Through this non-linear essay, I hope to examine, in the context of current American society, the pressures that are placed on women with regards to their place in the family and household, investigate how media and technology are empowering or oppressing women in relation to these roles, and present the points of views of stakeholders who are involved.
This issue resonates particularly strongly with me, as a young woman who grew up surrounded by media influences and technological advancements, raised by a mother with very conservative values and a much more liberal father. I hope to draw on my own experiences and insight in relation to the various points of view that I will explore, and I hope that these personal traces will add a layer of depth and interaction to this piece.
